Pay To Play
The goal of this spot was to make the voters of Rhode Island aware of a near-scandal involving then-General Treasurer Frank Caprio and his involvement with a “pay-to-play” scheme. A scheme that was criticized by the Wall Street Journal a few months earlier and which threw Caprio’s candidacy into doubt. This spot sought to show the stark contrast between the old politics of Frank Caprio and the unflagging honesty of Linc Chafee.
