This weekend’s haul adds to the 34 Pollie Awards our firms partners have picked up over the years.

Independent Expenditure U.S. House Democrat-“Next” (Silver)

An Independent Expenditure produced for Gerry Connolly in Virginia’s 11th Congressional District,“Next” won a silver Pollie for the Best Independent Expenditure Television Ad for a Congressional Democrat. In the ad Omar Samaha tells the tragic story of his sister Reema’s untimely death in the Virginia Tech massacre of April 2007.  Viewed by members of Connolly’s campaign as a crucial component to the incumbent’s razor thin victory, “Next” helped Connolly hold on in a year when many Democrats were swept away.

Television Ad for Local / Municipal / Regional Campaign-“AAA” (Bronze)

Taking home a bronze Pollie for Best Television Advertisement for a Local, Municipal, or Regional campaign AAA helped St. Louis County, Missouri voters appreciate what a AAA bond rating meant for them- more loans for small businesses, more police on our streets, and much more.  More importantly, voters came to understand that the County came out of the financial crisis with a AAA bond rating through the strong leadership of Charlie Dooley.  In November, “Triple A Charlie” won another four year term.

Best Use of Contrast in a State Legislative- “Nursing Homes” (Bronze)

An ad we produced for Keith Farnham’s tough-fought victory in the Illinois State House was honored with a bronze Pollie for the Best Use of Contrast in a State Legislative Campaign. “Nursing Homes” took a hard look at our opponent’s weak record on nursing home regulation and helped Farnham come from twenty points behind and win by a plurality.
