Mitt and Seek
Mitt Romney was overheard at a fundraiser saying that he would “eliminate some of the departments and agencies in Washington.” But would avoid specifics, “I’m probably not going to lay out just exactly which ones are going to go.”
There’s a reason Romney doesn’t want to get into the details. As he went on to say, “one of the things I found in a short campaign against Ted Kennedy was that when I said, for instance, that I wanted to eliminate the Department of Education, that was used to suggest I don’t care about education.”
Linked below is an ad my firm produced in that 1994 Senate campaign that hit Mitt Romney for pledging to eliminate the Department of Education. This is the ad Romney was talking about.

Eliminate the Department of Education?
It appears that Romney is taking a new approach, rather than changing his position on issues as he has done so many times in the past, he is instead, hiding his position on this one.
